Today is a collaboration with
of .Sandra wrote the poem, and I painted the graphics. We each made our piece with no idea what the other was creating. “6 panels” was our internal criteria.
In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, talking through past events with a therapist in a new, safe environment helps reframe those events over time. Experiencing our stories out of the original context offers a new perspective.
Sandra and I explored a new perspective on our work. What happens when something you make exists in partnership with something you didn’t make? How does it change the story you told yourself about the work? What is the new connection, the new meaning?
I normally bring three stories to each newsletter. There’s the story itself, the story I tell myself about the story, and the story I think you’ll think about the story. None of those are helpful anymore because these pieces have taken on a meaning of their own.

Photo of the week
This is my bike ride turnaround spot and I have a bajillion of this exact photo on my phone but it feels like the first time every time ☀️
Seeing it here is a ✨new✨ context too.

"but it feels like the first time every time" 🥲
I just love your stories and your gentle, calm perspective. xo
